If you’ve ever walked down a British high street, you’ve almost certainly passed a Ladbrokes. The brand goes back to the 1880s, and it’s still the group’s best-known name in the UK.
Online, it’s a proper all-rounder, and the welcome offers cover both sides. Sports fans get a bundle of free bets for one small first bet. Casino players get free spins with no wagering on the winnings, plus LadBucks you can swap for extras in the Ladbrokes store. If you want one brand from the group that does everything, this is the safe pick.
What I like:
-
✓
The group’s biggest UK name, with roots going back to 1886
-
✓
Welcome offers for both sports and casino, so you can pick the one that suits you
-
✓
No wagering on free spin winnings, plus 300 LadBucks on top
-
✓
Does it all: sports, casino, bingo and poker on one account
What I dislike:
-
–
PayPal, Skrill and Neteller deposits don’t qualify for the welcome offers
-
–
Free bets expire after 7 days, so you need to use them quickly
-
–
Free spins only work on selected slots, not the whole library

Coral is Entain’s other big high-street name, with a history that goes back to 1926. It joined Ladbrokes in the 2016 merger that formed Ladbrokes Coral, which Entain (then GVC) bought in 2018.
Inside the group, Coral and Ladbrokes are the two full bookmakers, and their offers are almost a mirror image. New sports customers get free bets for a small first bet, and casino players get free spins with no wagering on the winnings. Coral adds its own free-to-play games, where Coral Coins can be swapped for spins and other rewards.
What I like:
-
✓
Strong horse racing coverage with dedicated racing tools
-
✓
Familiar high-street brand with a long UK track record
-
✓
Same odds and platform as Ladbrokes
-
✓
Regular sports promotions including price boosts
What I dislike:
-
–
Website can feel busy for complete beginners
-
–
Racing focus may not suit those who only want football
-
–
Separate wallet from Ladbrokes despite shared owner

Gala Casino is the group’s casino-only brand under the Gala name. You won’t find a sportsbook here, just slots, table games and live dealer tables.
Rather than a big welcome bonus, it runs free slots tournaments every evening with small cash prizes, which cost nothing to enter. That makes it an easy way to try the games before you deposit, and a calmer option than the sports-led brands in the group.
What I like:
-
✓
Large casino and live game library
-
✓
Live casino promotions and weekly bonuses
-
✓
Same platform security as Ladbrokes
-
✓
Strong brand recognition from Gala’s UK heritage
What I dislike:
-
–
No sportsbook: casino only
-
–
Not the right choice if you want to bet on football or racing
-
–
Website can feel dated compared to newer casino sites

4. Gala Bingo
Gala Bingo is about as British as online bingo gets. The name was first used in 1991 on a chain of real bingo clubs, and the online site carried that heritage forward. Today it’s one of the biggest bingo sites in the UK.
You’ll find plenty of bingo rooms, with slots and live roulette for when you want a break between games. If you’re new to online bingo, it’s a comfortable place to start. Lots of players, a familiar name, nothing too complicated.
What I like:
-
✓
Roots in real UK bingo halls, with the Gala name going back to 1991
-
✓
One of the biggest online bingo sites in the UK, so the rooms are rarely empty
-
✓
One login across Gala Casino and Gala Spins
-
✓
Slots and live roulette for a break between bingo games
What I dislike:
-
–
No good welcome offer right now, only free daily games
-
–
No sportsbook, so it’s not for anyone who wants to bet on sport

Foxy Bingo has been around since 2005 and is best known for the fox mascot from its TV adverts. Bingo is the main event, with slots and casino games on the side.
It’s one of the few Entain brands that lets you choose your welcome offer: free spins for the slots or a bingo bonus for the rooms. You have to decide before you sign up, so pick the game you’ll actually play. The bingo bonus has very light wagering, which makes it one of the group’s easiest offers for a beginner to clear.
What I like:
-
✓
Playful, casual branding that feels less formal
-
✓
Choice of welcome offer: bingo bonus or free spins
-
✓
Strong app ratings on iOS and Android
-
✓
Large game library across bingo and slots
What I dislike:
-
–
Absorbed Cheeky Bingo players so the community is a mix
-
–
Less established than Gala Casino in the UK casino scene

bwin is the group’s European sports brand. It launched in Vienna in 1997 as betandwin and became a household name across Europe, with deals at clubs like Real Madrid and AC Milan. In the UK it’s far less well known.
That gives it a different feel from Ladbrokes and Coral: a large, established bookmaker without the high street image. Sport comes first, with boosted winnings on accas of three or more selections, and the casino and poker sit on the same account.
What I like:
-
✓
Deep European football coverage including lower leagues
-
✓
Large casino library within the network
-
✓
Same platform and security as Ladbrokes
-
✓
Clean, straightforward interface
What I dislike:
-
–
UK is not its primary market so UK-specific promotions are fewer
-
–
Less UK brand recognition than Ladbrokes or Coral
-
–
No retail shops in the UK

Party Poker launched in 2001 and was one of the sites that helped kick off the online poker boom. It’s the group’s dedicated poker room, so this is where to go if cards are your thing.
The welcome deal is built for poker players. Your deposit match unlocks bit by bit as you play, and you also get free tournament tickets and Party Dollars spread over your first few days. Newer players also get MyGame, a built-in coaching tool that gives you tips based on how you actually play.
What I like:
-
✓
The group’s dedicated poker brand, running since 2001
-
✓
Free tournament tickets and Party Dollars spread over your first six days
-
✓
MyGame coaching tool that gives you tips based on how you play
-
✓
Online qualifiers for live poker events around the UK
What I dislike:
-
–
The deposit bonus takes a lot of play to unlock, as it releases bit by bit as you earn loyalty points
-
–
90 days to clear the bonus, after which any locked part of the bonus is lost
-
–
PayPal, Skrill and Neteller deposits don’t qualify for the welcome offer

PartyCasino came out of PartyGaming, the same early online gambling company that launched partypoker, and the two are still sister brands today. It’s casino only, with no sportsbook or bingo.
Right now it has the strongest free spins offer of any Entain brand: double the spins Ladbrokes or Coral give for the same £10 stake, with no wagering on the winnings. If slots are all you play, it’s the group’s best starting point.
What I like:
-
✓
Strong focus on casino and instant games
-
✓
Crash game promotions including Aviator and Spaceman
-
✓
Same platform security as Ladbrokes
-
✓
Live game show selection
What I dislike:
-
–
PartyPoker’s European network migrated to iPoker in September 2025; UK status unconfirmed
-
–
No sportsbook: casino only
-
–
Less suitable if you want one site for everything

How to choose between Entain sites?
What are the similarities between Entain sites?
Because all Entain sites run on the same platform, under one UKGC licence, the majority of things players see stay consistent, whatever site you choose.
Payment methods, withdrawal times and the game libraries are all consistent with all sites in the group, with only minor differences showing up only at brands in the group that have a specific product focus, like bingo or sports betting.
Payment methods and deposit limits
| Payment Methods | Min Deposit | Max Deposit | Fees | Deposit Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard Debit | £5 to £10 | £2,000 | Free | Instant |
| PayPal | £5 to £10 | £2,000 | Free | Instant |
| Apple Pay | £5 to £10 | £2,000 | Free | Instant |
| Google Pay | £5 to £10 | £2,000 | Free | Instant |

| paysafecard | £5 to £10 | £2,000 | Free | Instant |

As you can see above, all brands in the group support instant deposit methods like Debit card, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Withdrawal times and limits
| Payment Methods | Min Withdrawal | Max Withdrawal | Fees | Withdrawal Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Visa / Mastercard Debit | £5 to £10 | £2,000 to £20,000 | Free | 1 to 5 banking days |

| paysafecard | £5 | £2,000 | Free | Instant |
| Bank Transfer | £5 to £10 | Up to £250,000 | Free | 2 to 5 business days |
The ranges mostly come down to which half of the group a brand sits in. Ladbrokes, Coral, Gala and Foxy mostly start at £5. bwin, Sportingbet, Gamebookers, Party Poker and PartyCasino mostly start at £10.
Games and software providers
Depending on the brand, not all sites will have the same providers. The providers above are the most common we found across all sites in the group, but not all brands are focused on casino games, some are bingo or sports-betting focused and hence have a smaller library available.
What is different between the brands ?
Not all things are the same between Entain sites, even though they share the same owning company. Depending on each brand, you will get different casino and betting bonuses and unique welcome offers.
We’ve compiled all the differences between the welcome offers in the tables below so you can compare them and choose the brand that best suits you.

Key details about Entain PLC
Entain is a gambling company that operates 12 online casino, sports betting, and bingo brands in the UK, all under the UK Gambling Commission licence 54743. The company grew through a series of major takeovers that brought some of the best-known names in British gambling under one roof.
- UKGC licence: 54743
- Date founded:
- Owned by: Public company(ENT.L)
- CEO: Stella David
- Date incorporated: 2004
History behind Entain
Entain started out in 2004 as Gaming VC Holdings, a small operator based in Luxembourg. In 2013 it acquired Sportingbet, adding an international sportsbook to the portfolio. Then in 2016 it acquired bwin.party digital entertainment in a deal worth over one billion pounds. This brought bwin, PartyCasino and PartyPoker into the group. At this point the company was called GVC Holdings.
The real turning point came in 2018, when it acquired Ladbrokes Coral Group in a multi-billion-pound deal. This added Ladbrokes, Coral, Gala Bingo, Gala Casino, Gala Spins, Foxy Bingo and Foxy Games to the portfolio. It also gave GVC the UK’s largest betting shop estate. By 2020 the board felt the old name no longer fitted, so GVC Holdings became Entain plc.

How big is Entain today?
Entain Group does not operate only in the UK. Entain has licensed brands and operations across the world, from the Americas to central European countries.
Entain is undoubtedly a revenue-making machine, cashing in roughly £5.3 billion a year and employing about 28,000 people across more than 30 regulated markets.
It is registered in the Isle of Man, at 2a Lord Street, Douglas, and run from its main office at One New Change in London.
Who owns and runs Entain?
Entain is a publicly owned company. It has no single owner. Its shares are traded on the London Stock Exchange and held by a mix of institutional investors, pension funds, retail investors and employees. That makes it very different from privately owned operators, which have one person or a small group at the top.
Entain is currently managed by Stella David, who has been the CEO since 29 April 2025.
Latest news related to Entain
Entain’s regulatory history
Entain has faced two major regulatory cases in the UK in recent years. We’d treat both as a red flag worth knowing about, but not as a reason on their own to avoid the brands in the group.
August 2022: UKGC settlement
In August 2022, Entain agreed to pay £17 million to the UK Gambling Commission over failures in its social responsibility and anti-money laundering controls. It was the largest enforcement action the Commission had ever taken. Andrew Rhodes, the Commission’s chief executive, called the failures “completely unacceptable”.
The Commission found that Entain had let some customers deposit hundreds of thousands of pounds without proper checks on where the money came from or whether they could afford to lose it. In one case, a customer gambled overnight for long stretches over 18 months and deposited £230,845, with just one safer gambling interaction in that time.
Entain kept its licence, and says it has since strengthened its controls. The Commission warned that any further serious breaches could put the licence at risk.
2023: The deferred prosecution agreement
In December 2023, Entain entered into a deferred prosecution agreement with the Crown Prosecution Service, following an investigation by HM Revenue and Customs. A deferred prosecution agreement lets a company avoid criminal prosecution by agreeing to strict terms, including paying a penalty.
The case concerned Entain’s failure to prevent bribery at its former Turkish-facing business, Headlong Limited, between 2011 and 2017. Entain agreed to pay £585 million in penalties and returned profits, plus a £20 million charitable donation and £10 million in costs, bringing the total to £615 million. A senior judge approved the agreement, and it was the first of its kind for the CPS.
In August 2025, the CPS charged 11 people, including five former Entain executives, with offences including bribery and conspiracy to defraud. Entain itself was not charged, and none of the people charged still work for the group.
Pros and cons of Entain sites
Considering all the things we mentioned about the Entain group of sites, here are our key takeaways on why you should choose or avoid these sites:
What I like:
-
✓
One UKGC licence covers all major brands. That means one regulator, one set of safety rules and one place to check the operator’s status.
-
✓
Huge brand choice. Ladbrokes, Coral, bwin, Gala Bingo, PartyCasino and PartyPoker give you options for every type of betting and gaming.
-
✓
Retail and online combined. Ladbrokes and Coral have thousands of high-street shops. You can place a bet in person or online under the same brand.
-
✓
Public company transparency. As a FTSE 100 firm, Entain publishes its financial results and is scrutinised by regulators and investors.
What I dislike:
-
–
Regulatory history. The 2022 UKGC fine and the 2023 agreement are key red flags to consider.
-
–
High debt load. Entain carries roughly £3.6 billion in adjusted net debt. That financial pressure can affect how the company invests in its products and player protections.
What Entain site to pick?
Ladbrokes is the best starting point for most new players. PartyCasino is the better choice if you only play slots. The rest of the group is built around a specific type of player, so the right pick depends on what you want to play.
If slots are all you play, go with PartyCasino. Its welcome offer gives you twice the free spins of Ladbrokes or Coral, with no wagering on the winnings. Gala Casino suits casino players who’d rather try the games through free daily tournaments first.
For bingo, start with Gala Bingo. It’s one of the biggest bingo sites in the UK and a comfortable first stop. Foxy Bingo is the more relaxed option, and its bingo bonus comes with very light wagering.
For poker, pick partypoker, and for accumulators, pick bwin. partypoker’s coaching tool and low-stakes games make it easy to learn. bwin’s acca boosts reward bets with three or more picks.
Ladbrokes is my favourite from the group, and it’s what I’d recommend to most beginners. It covers sports, casino, bingo and poker on one account, and its casino welcome offer adds LadBucks on top of no-wagering free spins. If you’ve already used Ladbrokes and want a fresh start, Coral is the closest alternative, with the same sports welcome offer.
Nikola StaninWhichever brand you choose, keep the group’s record in mind. The 2022 Gambling Commission fine was for failures in player protection and money laundering checks, so set your own deposit limits from day one and treat gambling as entertainment, not income.
If you want to dig deeper, our Ladbrokes sister sites page breaks down how the flagship brand compares to the rest of the network.
