How we test casinos
How do reviews work at Gamblexity?
Top UK Casinos (October, 2026)
What’s our testing and review process?
Our team of industry experts has established a testing process where everything is tested from the perspective of a future player. How the interface looks and behaves, how understandable the wagering terms are, and finally, what the real experience of playing at the casino is, from depositing to cashing out.
1. We make sure the app works
The first part of our testing is to download the app of the casino we are testing. Or if the app is not available, we use the casino’s website. We ensure the app or the website is available and working on the most-used user devices, then proceed with thorough testing. The goal is to make ourselves familiar with the app, its layout, and dig out any quirks so at the end, we can report all things that were good and that were not so good back to our users.

2. We make the complicated stuff simple
Casinos usually make the terms and conditions of their promotions hard to read and understand. In this step of the test, our goal is to remove any player confusion and translate the complex terms into a readable, plain English explanation that is easy to understand and decide upon.
This way, the players know exactly what to expect even before playing.
3. Test, deposit and cash out
After the first two parts of the test are done, we proceed with real money tests. This part of the testing process is crucial, as it tests out the real-world experience that the player would have when using one of the casino apps we are reviewing. We try depositing money with various payment methods, play the games, and after we are satisfied, we try to withdraw our money. Each step tells us if the casino keeps its promises to the players, and in most cases, this step tells us which casino exactly is to be trusted and which casino is to be skipped.

Finalising the review
After all thorough tests are done, it’s time to rate the casino. We rate the casinos on a scale from 1.0-5.0, trying to keep the rating as simple as possible whilst keeping all the transparency and nuances needed for players to choose a good casino option for them.
We also assign two types of badges to all our reviews:
1. Verdict badge, explaining our rating:
- Recommended badge, for all casinos that are rated above 4.0 by our team
- Shortlist badge for all casinos that are in the top category of casinos, rated above 3.5. But are still worth considering as a good option, not necessarily as a straight-away top contender
- Skip badge, reserved for brands that don’t comply with regulations, have bad customer support or worrying customer reviews across multiple verified sites, and an overall bad experience in our play-tests.
2. Player-type badge:
The second review badge shows the broader category the reviewed casino or sports betting brand falls into, and it does not represent a number range like the first type:
- For beginners badge,
- For sport bettors
- and other variable badges that we assign after the review is concluded
